Today, a Memorandum on cooperation in the field of prevention of emergencies and liquidation of their consequences was signed between the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Directorate General of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. The memorandum was signed by the Head of the SES of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin and the Director General of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic Dragoslav Ryba.
During the signing of the Memorandum, the Head of the SES of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin noted that the current year was marked by the high rates of development of the Ukrainian-Czech partnership in the field of prevention of emergencies. In particular, the results of the joint work of the Department of the SESU in Zakarpattia Oblast and Pardubits, Pryashiv and Vyosochinsk regional fire and rescue agencies of the General Directorate were summed up in April. In July, the Director General of the Fire and Rescue Service took part in the transfer of humanitarian aid to the rescuers of Zakarpattia Oblast; an exchange of visits between the delegation of the Czech Republic, Moravia and Silesia and the delegation of Zakarpattia Oblast have taken place.
"In the end, today we went out to sign a bilateral document between our agencies," said Mykola Chechotkin.
"It happens," stressed the Chairman of the SESU, "only among the real friends who live side by side in the common European home."
For his part, the Director General of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic Dragoslav Ryba thanked the Head of the SESU for the invitation and stressed that the further active development of cooperation between the Czech and Ukrainian rescuers should be embodied in international documents.
At the ceremony of signing of the Memorandum on Cooperation, the Czech delegation was also represented by Deputy Director General of the Fire and Rescue Service for Financial matters Slavomir Bell, the Head of the Office of Hetman of Vysochin Kateryna Svoboda. The Ukrainian side was represented by the First Deputy Head of the SESU Oleg Melchutsky, the Deputy Heads Ruslan Biloshitsky and Mykola Ilchenko.
